My name is Daniel and I go by Aikar online (and sometimes RL..). I’ve been programming since around 2002. I started off with very basic web pages, moving into PHP and built some small websites in high school.
Got an AAS in Web Technologies in 2007, after which I joined the online community Windower (http://windower.net) in which I started learning C++.
In my time working for the Windower project I learned a great deal in the concepts and level of C++, and worked a lot with memory and assembly level programming, giving me a better understanding on how code actually runs on the low level, even in interpreted languages like PHP.
Now I work for iContact doing PHP development, and Node.JS development in my free time, working on my future game Starlis, and contributing to Open Source where possible.
